California paperwork and vehicle classification
California DMV distinguishes a golf cart from a modified cart: under its vehicle-code definition a golf cart is designed for no more than two people and no more than 15 mph. DMV says modifying one to exceed 15 mph or carry more than two people changes how the vehicle is classified. Mention any speed, seat, or road-use modifications rather than describing every cart as a standard golf cart.
The DMV lists a California title, manufacturer's origin document, bill of sale, or other chain-of-ownership documents as evidence for a golf cart subject to registration. It also describes a narrow registration exemption for carts operated no more than one mile from a golf course on a highway designated by local ordinance. Keep your existing ownership records and check the actual classification with DMV rather than assuming every California cart needs the same paperwork.

Record seating and speed modifications, where the cart was used, and the ownership documents you have.
Conditions vary from coastal salt air to inland heat and mountain winters. Include the cart's usual setting and storage, and check exposed metal, battery connections, tires, and sun-worn upholstery. Photos can be kept ready if the purchasing team requests them during follow-up.
